Kyle & Lauren

Hi there!

We are so grateful you are taking the time to consider us. We have been praying for you and for your child as you make this difficult decision. We can’t imagine the weight of the choices you are having to make. We believe God is the author of a beautiful story and will turn your difficulties into something beautiful in the end.

We are thrilled to be growing our family through adoption. We’ve loved the idea of adopting since before we got married and always planned to adopt at least one child. Since having been diagnosed with unexplained infertility, we feel God is leading us to adoption at this time.

Adoption is a beautiful picture of God’s love for us, yet all adoption begins with loss. Please know that we greatly admire and respect your decision and we will ensure your child knows that your decision is a result of your selfless love for them. We would love to include you in their life as much as you desire. We are hoping for an open adoption where the child knows they are loved, supported, and prayed for by both us and you.

Ultimately, we want what is best for you and your child. We would be honored if you chose us and would love to give your child a happy, safe, FUN, and Jesus-loving home.

– Kyle & Lauren

Married since 2016

Reside in Virginia

Kyle’s Occupation: Elementary English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher

Lauren’s Occupation: Data Analytics Program Manager

About Us:

We met in college through mutual friends going to church together. Kyle would drive Lauren to church every Sunday. He was smitten by her sense of humor, quick wit, and sense of style. He and his friends called her “SCIG” (Super Cute Indie Girl). Lauren was stoked when “Sweet Kyle” (as she referred to him, and still does!) asked her out after class one day. She always felt so comfortable around Kyle and loved his taste in books and music. We dated for 2 and a half years before getting married in 2016.

We both became interested in adoption during college before our infertility diagnosis. Kyle was impacted by a church service focused on adoption and Lauren heard a persuasive speech on adoption in a communications class (it was very persuasive!). We are hoping for an open adoption where the birth parents are involved as much as they feel comfortable.

Kyle enjoys filling our home with fresh vegetables from his garden, music on his record player, and stacks on stacks of books to read. Lauren loves hosting friends, crafting bouquets with flowers from her garden, and making delicious treats for Kyle. Our relationship is full of love and joy and we can’t wait to share this love with a child!

10 Fun Facts:

  1. We are very active in a lovely church that has a great kids ministry and several other adoptive families. Kyle teaches Sunday school to elementary schoolers and is on the church leadership team. Lauren teaches a high school girls discipleship group, and helps plan the annual women's retreat. We also lead a college group together!
  2. Lauren is an amateur woodworker and has made a kitchen island and a bookshelf for our home.
  3. We live in a cozy, ranch-style home in a small town nestled near the Blue Ridge Mountains. We love our home and community! We love taking walks, chatting with our friendly neighbors, and saying hi to the neighborhood cats.
  4. We LOVE to see the world and eat food! We've visited Italy, Portugal (twice!), Canada, and all over the East Coast. We can't wait to show our kids the world!
  5. We find joy in the little things and make every evening into a party, which usually means having a cookie and watching Lost for the fifth time.
  6. We sponsor a Guatemalan boy named Venancio through Compassion International.
  7. Lauren is a top-notch cook. Her specialties include homemade bread (made regularly), Indian butter chicken, shawarma, and chicken pot pie.
  8. Kyle is a language nerd. He speaks conversational Spanish and a smattering of Portuguese and French. Both Kyle and Lauren learned Spanish in Guatemala during college.
  9. Music has been a big part of our relationship. Kyle collects vinyl and we love to go to concerts. Kyle also played the trumpet all through school.
  10. We love being outdoors through cycling, running, hiking, or kayaking. We have both run several races, including 5ks and half marathons. Kyle has even run a marathon and Lauren has (slowly!) run a 50k.
