Hello,

This feels like the most important introduction we have ever made. Despite not having the ability to sit with you today, we hope to make a meaningful connection through photos and heartfelt words. As an expectant mother, we cannot imagine the various emotions you face. We want you to know how deeply we respect you and the courage it takes to consider adoption as a plan for your child. It is our prayer that you feel supported and sincerely heard with the decision you ultimately make. For our part, we are committed to navigating this process with openness and authenticity. You deserve an accurate depiction of who we are and the family we hope to become.

After years of infertility, we are especially grateful for the opportunity to grow our family through adoption. As parents, we will provide an incredibly loving and stable home. We will cherish, protect, and nurture the life we are entrusted with. In getting to know us more, we hope you see the evidence of these words and find comfort in them.

There’s a Timothy Keller quote that reads, “To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.” Working toward a relationship that models this love with you is our greatest hope.

Skylyr & Amanda

1. Home is Kansas City. In the Midwest, we take barbeque and sports far too seriously but are truly surrounded by the kindest people. We love our community.
2. We live in a newly renovated 2-story, 4-bedroom home with a large backyard. We love to grill in the summer months and dream of building a screened-in porch.
3. We have a 7-year old Wheaten Terrier named Liberty. She is the heart of our home and the happiest dog we know. She is also hypoallergenic and great with kids!
4. One of the greatest gifts we can offer a child is the love of our families. Some of our favorite traditions include homemade Italian food, weekends at the cabin, pool days, and game nights.
5. To celebrate our 10-year anniversary, Skylyr organized a vow renewal ceremony. It took place on the family farm and our 8-year old niece was the officiant. Best surprise ever!
6. Amanda is rarely without her camera. She began shooting professionally in 2016 and runs a profit for purpose photography business.
7. Skylyr enjoys snowboarding and downhill mountain biking. Regardless of the season, we escape to the mountains as often as we can.
8. Some of our favorite travel destinations include Italy, Greece, Hawaii, The Bahamas, and Costa Rica. We would love to visit Spain and return to Italy someday.
9. Amanda plans to limit her work hours and stay home with a child full-time. Skylyr has a remote job which affords him flexibility in his schedule and more time at home.
10. We are hopeful to create an ongoing relationship with you; including visits if you desire. We believe there is significant value in children having an open path to their families. THANK YOU for reading a little about us!
