Hello,

This feels like the most important introduction we have ever made. Despite not having the ability to sit with you today, we hope to make a meaningful connection through photos and heartfelt words. As an expectant mother, we cannot imagine the various emotions you face. We want you to know how deeply we respect you and the courage it takes to consider adoption as a plan for your child. It is our prayer that you feel supported and sincerely heard with the decision you ultimately make. For our part, we are committed to navigating this process with openness and authenticity. You deserve an accurate depiction of who we are and the family we hope to become.

After years of infertility, we are especially grateful for the opportunity to grow our family through adoption. As parents, we will provide an incredibly loving and stable home. We will cherish, protect, and nurture the life we are entrusted with. In getting to know us more, we hope you see the evidence of these words and find comfort in them.

There’s a Timothy Keller quote that reads, “To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.” Working toward a relationship that models this love with you is our greatest hope.

1. We hope to build an ongoing relationship with you, including visits if you desire. We believe there is significant value in children having an open path to their families.
2. Kansas City is home. We take our barbeque and sports far too seriously but are truly surrounded by the kindest people. We love our community.
3. We live in a newly renovated two-story, four-bedroom home with a spacious backyard. We enjoy grilling in the summer months and dream of adding a screened-in porch
4. Our Wheaten Terrier, Liberty, is the heart of our home and the happiest dog we know. She is hypoallergenic and great with kids!
5. Amanda plans to limit her work hours and stay home with a child full-time. Skylyr works remotely, giving him a flexible schedule and more time at home.
6. One of the greatest gifts we can offer a child is the love of our families. Some of our favorite traditions include homemade Italian food, weekends at the cabin, pool days, and game nights.
7. To celebrate our 10-year anniversary, Skylyr organized a vow renewal ceremony on the family farm, officiated by our 8-year-old niece. It was the best surprise ever!
8. Amanda is rarely without her camera. She began shooting professionally in 2016 and runs a profit-for-purpose photography business.
9. Skylyr enjoys snowboarding and downhill mountain biking. We escape to the mountains as often as we can, regardless of the season.
10. Some of our favorite travel destinations include Italy, Greece, Hawaii, The Bahamas, and Costa Rica. We would love to visit Spain and return to Italy someday.
