Nathaniel & Christina

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little bit about us. We have always wanted children and tried for many years without success. We never really felt God leading us toward adoption until recently. Very suddenly God started opening doors for us to adopt, so for the first time, the hope that we’ve had so long for children is starting to feel like it will come to fruition.

We’ve always wanted to do all the crazy and fun things that other parents do: feed a toddler spaghetti and meatballs, take embarrassing pictures of them with their soaped-up hair standing straight up, and telling terrible dad jokes, but more than that, we want to raise a child to be a mature, godly adult that we can be proud of.

With all that being said, we understand that this story isn’t just about us. It’s also about the child and the wonderful people who loved a child enough to bring them into the world. We’re really finding that God has his hand in everything. You’ve taken a step to do what you feel is best for your child, and God will take a step toward you and guide you toward the right decision. Maybe that right decision is us, maybe it’s another couple, or maybe it’s you. As much as we want to welcome a child into our home, we also want God’s will to be done. It’s taken us a long time to really understand, but God really does have a purpose in everything.

About Us:

We first met in 2002 working with a small home missions church as a part of a youth trip, but we really became friends several months later after bumping into each other at a church youth event that both our churches were involved in. We bonded mainly over our love of reading as well as our love of listening to Christmas music as performed by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. We started dating in 2005, and we married in 2006.

Both of us are infatuated with the concept of time-travel, and several of our favorite shows’ episodes involve it, or are even based on it, such as “Dr. Who”. We both enjoy classic “Star Trek”, and the “Star Wars Expanded Universe”. All of this aside, both of us are avid readers, with one of the rooms on our home dedicated to our books. We each have several shelves lined with our favorites, such as Lemony Snicket’s “Series of Unfortunate Events”, alternate fairy tale renditions by Robin McKinley, Robert Jordan’s “Wheel of Time”, and Piers Anthony’s “Xanth” series. This is just the tip of the iceberg though, as together we have over 1,500 books.

We are both very active in our church, from working with children in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School to running the Sound Team and singing with the Praise Team and Chorale. We both make ourselves available when called, and our church friends are our family, throwing parties for each other and sharing in our big life events. We are blessed with a loving and supportive group, and many of our cherished memories have them involved in some way or another.
