The FLS Adoption Training Weekend is mandatory for all approved applicants to the FLS Domestic Infant Adoption Program and is scheduled for March 15 & 16, 2023. We are currently accepting applications for this program and the training is offered annually in Lynchburg, Virginia. Couples must submit a pre-application and a full application for approval prior to receiving an invitation to this in-person training session. There is no obligation to join the FLS program if, after completing the weekend, a couple feels that FLS is not the right fit for them. Space is limited and couples will be invited in the order in which applications are approved.  In order to confirm their reservation, couples will need to register and pay by the deadline so we can fill any vacant spots with other applicants.  This two-day training workshop includes presentations from staff presenting topics such as medical considerations in adoption, transracial adoption, openness and building healthy adoption relationships, creating the adoption profile, resources for the adoption journey, etc. In addition, attendees will hear panel discussions with adoptees, adoptive parents, and birth parents.
