Joe & Tammy

Hello,

We would like to thank you for taking this time to get to know our family. We understand that this must be very difficult for you and we truly feel that adoption is the ultimate act of love and selflessness. As we pray for God to bring us the right child for our family, we also pray for you to have peace about your decision and have comfort knowing when you have found the right family to love and care for your child.

We understand that what may be a dream come true for us is causing you great heartache. All we can promise you is that if we are that family, that we will love your child unconditionally. We want you to know that we honor your decision, and we are open to communication if that is something you desire. We hope to give you a glimpse into our lives and that you will see a life of love, adventure, hope, strength, faith, and laughter.

Joe’s Occupation: Lead Tactics Instructor for Military, Police, and Corporate Organizations

Tammy’s Occupation: Part-Time Dental Hygienist and a Group Fitness Coach

About Us:

We first met in our church youth group. Tammy was instantly attracted to Joe’s sense of humor and adventurous spirit. Tammy cheered all through middle and high school, but she was pretty shy. I guess the saying “opposites attract” is true; at least for us that was the case. We always knew that we wanted children but shortly after we were married, Joe was deployed with the Marine Corp and spent 3 years away from home. Nearly 10 years into our marriage and after miscarriages and several years of infertility, we were blessed with the birth of our first son, Dillinger. Not long after, we were able to have another child and Barrett came into our world. We wanted more children but soon found out that we would not be able to have anymore. The Lord began to speak to our hearts, and we knew that he had plans for more children in our family and he was leading us to adoption. We have several friends that have adopted, and we see the love that these families share. We would love to add a little girl to our family to even things out a little. We could use a few tea parties and dollhouses. Then again, another rough and tumble little boy would fit in perfectly and we would welcome either into our home with love and enthusiasm for their own unique personality and interests.

10 Fun Facts:

  1. We started dating in High School and we have been married almost 20 years.
  2. Dillinger entered our lives in 2010 and Barrett in 2013.
  3. Joe is a really good singer. He used to sing lead in a group. Tammy is a terrible singer, but she has the dance moves.
  4. Tammy’s favorite date is when she was in Phoenix for a work conference, and while sitting at lunch, Joe walked up behind her and tapped her on the shoulder. He had flown out just for the day and took her to an amazing restaurant for dinner and then he flew back home.
  5. Tammy is very girlie and was a hairstylist for several years before she became a dental hygienist, but Joe learned to cut hair in college to make extra money from his dorm buddies giving them haircuts. He now cuts our boys’ hair.
  6. Tammy loves to cook and bake and prepares almost all the meals in our home, but Joe is the master chef of breakfast.
  7. We are huge animal lovers. Since we have been married, we have had 4 dogs, 1 potbelly pig, a rooster, 2 horses, 2 rats, and a leopard gecko.
  8. We have lived in Virginia most of our lives, but Joe spent 8 years of his childhood outside of London, England, and Tammy spent 10 years of her childhood in Orlando, Florida.
  9. Tammy’s mom lives nearby and has always been very involved with our children’s lives. Tammy now works part time, so she will be home with the children or they will be with Maw Maw Lois.
  10. Whenever we travel, people often come up to Joe mistakenly thinking he is John Cena.
